Meeting Notes supports an optional global shortcut for starting and stopping recording.

Default Shortcut

By default, Meeting Notes does not have a shortcut set. If you want one, you can add it in Settings -> Meeting Notes.

What the Shortcut Does

Once configured, the Meeting Notes shortcut toggles recording:
  • Press once to start recording
  • Press again to stop and process the meeting

Available Shortcut Types

Meeting Notes uses the same preset options as the rest of Snaply.

Single-key

  • Fn
  • Left Control
  • Left Option
  • Right Command
  • Right Option

Multi-key

  • Option + Space
  • Control + Space
  • Command + Shift + Space
  • Option + Shift + Space

Custom Shortcuts

If the presets are not right for you, record a custom shortcut.

Change the Meeting Notes Shortcut

  1. Open Settings -> Meeting Notes
  2. Go to the Shortcuts section
  3. Click Set Shortcut or Change
  4. Choose a preset or record a custom shortcut

Shortcut Conflicts

Meeting Notes should not use the same shortcut as:
  • Dictation
  • Writing Assistant
If you pick a shortcut that is already in use, Snaply tells you which workflow owns it and asks you to choose a different one.

Setup Behavior

If you use the Meeting Notes shortcut before setup is ready, Snaply can open the Meeting Notes settings page so you can finish the missing steps.
