Meeting Notes is not only for live calls. Use import when the meeting already happened. Use export when you want the final notes to live in a folder you already use. This is the page for the practical handoff workflows: recordings from another device, raw transcripts you want to copy, Markdown notes for Obsidian, and meeting summaries you want to send into Codex, Trello, email, or your own folder system.

Upload A Meeting Recording

From the Meeting Notes page, click Upload audio recording. Supported formats:
  • WAV
  • M4A
  • MP3
Snaply converts the file, creates a meeting session, transcribes the audio, and generates notes using the default notes template and your current AI model. After import, you can change the template or notes language and regenerate notes from the same workspace. Use this when:
  • You recorded the meeting on a phone, iPad, recorder, or another app
  • Someone sent you a meeting recording after the call
  • You want Snaply’s transcript, speaker turns, notes, and Ask AI on audio that was not captured live

What Imported Recordings Can Do

Imported recordings use the same workspace as live recordings. That means you can:
  • Read and search the transcript
  • Generate a title and structured notes
  • Rename speakers when diarization is available
  • Edit the generated notes
  • Regenerate notes with another template
  • Reprocess the meeting from saved audio
  • Ask AI follow-up questions

Copy Notes Or Transcript

Inside a meeting workspace, open the actions menu when you need to get the content out fast:
  • Copy meeting notes as Markdown
  • Copy the transcript
  • Search across the meeting
  • Regenerate notes
  • Reprocess the meeting

Markdown Export Folder

If you like keeping notes in files, set a Markdown export folder:
  1. Open Settings -> Meeting Notes.
  2. Find Markdown export.
  3. Click Set folder.
  4. Enter an existing local folder path.
When Markdown export is enabled, Snaply writes Markdown copies of generated notes to that folder and keeps them in sync when notes are updated. This works well for Obsidian vaults, local knowledge bases, agent workflows, project folders, and any setup where meeting notes should be plain files instead of trapped inside one app.

Audio Storage

Meeting recordings stay local on your Mac. You can limit recording storage from Settings -> Meeting Notes -> Audio storage. Snaply keeps notes and transcripts, while older audio can be compressed or cleaned up according to your setting.
