Snaply keeps a local history of recent dictations in Settings -> Dictation.

What You Can Do

For each item in Recent Transcriptions, you can:
  • Read the saved text
  • Copy the text to your clipboard
  • Replay the original recording
  • Retranscribe the recording
  • Reveal the audio file in Finder
  • Delete the transcription
If a transcription fails, Snaply keeps the entry in history and lets you retry it later from the saved recording.

What Gets Saved

Each item can include:
  • The final transcription text
  • The date and time
  • Recording duration
  • Detected language
  • The original audio file, when it is still available

Audio Retention

Snaply stores transcription history locally on your Mac.
  • The text history stays local.
  • The source audio is saved locally so you can replay or retranscribe it.
  • Audio files are automatically cleaned up after 7 days.
After the audio file has been cleaned up, the text entry can still remain in history, but replay, retranscribe, and Finder actions will no longer be available for that item.

Privacy

Dictation history is local-only. Audio and transcription text do not need to leave your Mac for normal dictation.
